Lawas run

Driving across the border to Lawas is not an easy feat. We had to sit in traffic n drove to Limbang and again entering Brunei border Temburong before we arrived in Lawas.
Gave Yann, Liz , Kay & John a surprise with our arrival at Perdana Hotel in Lawas. Martin n I decided to join them for a run in the jungle of Lawas. Thank you to Richard Rining n his team for laying the run. It was Martin and my1st run in Lawas and we had an awesome adventure.
Coming out in the dark was not a problem to us as we had our torch lights with us.

Mt Santubong

Without so much a thought, we decided to take a road trip to Kuching.
With our love for trekking and nature, we decided to try Mt Santubong. With the height of approx. 2430 ft, we started at Bukit Puteri. The starting climb was quiet slippery and rocky. The trek was a sight to behold with tall and huge trees. We could see roots snaking their way to the surface trying to trip the careless hikers.
After we passed F7, we faced one of our toughest challenge, very steep and rocky incline of approx 40°.
Using our upper body and arm strength, we pulled our way up to the 2nd rest point. The nature was at its best, birds were chirping, bees and instects were buzzing and the ants were all busy at work as we continued our trek to the next level. We were met with rope ladders which were approx 2 -3 storey high. At this point, as my husband and I were the only one on the trek, we decided we will stop here. What if either one of us had an injury or fell, it would be tough to get help.
If you think the hike up was a challenge, the trek down was more challenging.
We had a great day out in Mt Santubong but we will be back again with friends to climb the summit.

Nature at its best

After being down with a wet lung, its time to be out and about enjoying nature ! Simply love the outdoor!
